Pinta opens the exhibition “Travesías / Journeys” at the Meridian International Center, in collaboration with CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean – and CC LATAM. Curated by Irene Gelfman, it brings together 15 works from 7 countries, acquired by CAF at Pinta Miami, addressing themes of identity, memory, territory, technology, and the environment. The exhibition will be on view in Washington D.C. until the end of September.

Peruvian contemporary art is experiencing a vibrant moment. Over the past decade, its art ecosystem has begun to consolidate, with a growing local collector base, a more professional gallery scene, and an increasing number of artists gaining international visibility. However, it remains an early stage, with a small and fragile market that requires stronger structures to support its development. Unlike other countries in the region, Peru lacks strong institutional support for contemporary art. 

The end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 were marked by palpable euphoria in the art market, particularly in Miami during December’s fair week. The recent outcome of the U.S. elections and the return of Donald Trump to the presidency initially generated optimism among collectors and art professionals. It was expected that the new administration would boost liquidity in the U.S. market, with positive effects on the global art market.

Pinta Lima is the most important contemporary art fair in Peru, presenting in its 12th edition a solid program that celebrates the diversity of the Latin American artistic and cultural scene. Located at Casa Prado in Miraflores, Lima, the fair is an essential event where a network of artists, galleries, curators, and collectors from the region connect with the international scene.

The exhibition El incondicionado desocultamiento: las experimentaciones audiovisuales de Rafael Hastings (The Unconditioned Unveiling: Rafael Hastings’ Audiovisual Experimentations) has opened at the ICPNA San Miguel space, offering a revisit of the Peruvian visual artist’s filmic work and audiovisual explorations.

The exhibition presents for the first time a family collection of great significance to Peruvian history, consisting of portraits, religious paintings, and various objects. These pieces allow for an exploration of different aspects of life in the viceregal court of Lima during the 18th century.  

Galería del Paseo / Lima presents Esta tierra que compartimos (This land we share), a solo exhibition by Peruvian artist Josué Sánchez, curated by Giuliana Vidarte with exhibition design by Álvaro Sánchez.

Crisis Galería presents the solo exhibition Amuleto by artist Ana Navas. This marks her second solo show at the gallery. For the Peruvian artist, each "glass organism" emerges from the metabolization of her fascination with the connection between the pioneers of modern abstraction and spirituality.

The art gallery located in downtown Lima presents its second exhibition, featuring renowned artists from Peru, Kyrgyzstan, and China.
