Max Hernández Calvo
Peruvian independent curator and art critic, Max Hernández Calvo has developed a practice focused on exhibition-making and research on contemporary art in Peru.
His recent curatorial work includes retrospectives and solo exhibitions at institutions and galleries such as ICPNA, Galería Vigil Gonzáles, and Galería Ginsberg. In 2015, he curated Misplaced Ruins by Gilda Mantilla and Raimond Chaves for the Peruvian Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale.
He is the author and co-author of key publications on contemporary Peruvian art, including El mañana fue hoy. 21 años de videocreación y arte electrónico en el Perú and Franquicias imaginarias. Las opciones estéticas en las artes plásticas del Perú de fin de siglo.
