Pinta Panamá Art Week: Positioning on the Global Contemporary Art Map

What is Pinta Panamá Art Week?

Pinta Panamá Art Week is part of the Pinta Art Weeks, an international program organized by Pinta—the leading platform for promoting art from Latin America and Central America. The program features a Cultural Program developed by invited curators, designed so that both local and international visitors can enjoy contemporary art exhibitions in galleries, collections, museums, foundations, and cultural institutions, while also participating in special activities and discovering the local culture.

The event is sponsored by EFG—Global Lead Partner of Pinta—and supported by Mercantil. It is also backed by Panama’s Ministry of Culture (MINCULT) and the Panama City Hall.

A World-Class Event in Panama

For five days, Pinta Panamá Art Week will showcase contemporary art exhibitions, artist studio visits, and guided tours of the city's main galleries, collections, foundations, and museums.

Its international FORO—a signature initiative present at every Pinta event—is curated by Mónica Kupfer and stands out as one of the highlights of the program. Over three days, renowned voices from the cultural field will share experiences and reflections on collecting, the role of foundations, the development of new curatorial practices, and the challenges faced by the art ecosystem in Panama and Central America.

The Cultural Program of Pinta Panamá Art Week will feature Artistic Direction by Irene Gelfman, Pinta’s Global Curator, and curatorship by Emiliano Valdés—a Guatemalan curator who served for a decade as Chief Curator of the Museum of Modern Art in Medellín, Colombia. Visitors will enjoy special itineraries through participating galleries, museums, and cultural institutions, where some of the region’s finest artistic proposals will be showcased.

An Immersive Experience in Panamanian Culture

Panama stands out as a natural and cultural bridge between North and South, making it a key meeting point that celebrates the region’s diversity and richness. In this context, Pinta Panamá Art Week will offer attendees a comprehensive experience, where contemporary art merges with tourism and local culture: visitors will engage with local traditions, architecture, cuisine, and the many attractions of the city. Moreover, the activities are open to the general public, making Panamanian art and culture accessible to everyone.
