Ana Irene Delgado

Ana Irene Delgado is a Panamanian diplomat, lawyer, and public servant with an extensive career in international relations, law, and multilateral engagement. She currently serves as, following her tenure as Senator of the Republic of Panama (2019–2024), where she worked on foreign affairs, infrastructure, Panama Canal, indigenous affairs, environment, and sustainability committees. Previously, she was Ambassador and Consul General to the United Kingdom, Ambassador to Ireland, and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization, also serving on the Board of Governors of the World Maritime University.

 

A partner at the law firm Solis, Endara, Delgado & Guevara since 2006, she holds an LL.M. from NYU School of Law, an Advanced Professional Certificate from NYU Stern, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Law and in International Affairs. She has been recognized as NYU Graduate of the Year, earned multiple academic distinctions, and has published literary and journalistic work.

 

Beyond diplomacy, Ana Irene has a distinguished athletic career in fencing and modern pentathlon, representing Panama in world championships and regional games, and serving as Vice President of the International Fencing Federation. She is also deeply committed to social work, supporting indigenous communities, youth initiatives, and civic-values programs.
