Karim Lesina is an internationally respected leader in telecommunications, public affairs, and global digital policy. Born in Dakar and of Italian–Tunisian nationality, he holds a Master’s in Economics of Development from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve.
Since 2020, Karim has served as Executive Vice President and Chief External Affairs Officer at Millicom (Tigo), leading Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Communications, and ESG across Latin America and the U.S. His work spans complex regulatory environments, high-stakes political engagement, and strategic communications that shape the future of digital connectivity.
Karim’s career includes senior roles at AT&T as Senior Vice President for International External & Regulatory Affairs, and at Intel managing Government Affairs for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This experience positioned him as a recognized expert on both EU and U.S. policy ecosystems, with deep understanding of transatlantic regulatory dynamics, trade, technology governance, and global digital-economy frameworks.
He is Co-Founder of CCLATAM, a platform driving forward-looking dialogue between Latin America, Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East, and serves on multiple boards and councils in development, education, and telecommunications.
