María Sancho-Arroyo is a recognized expert in the art market with over 30 years of international experience. She began her career at the National Museum of Catalan Art (MNAC) in Barcelona and the Louvre in Paris before settling in London, where she worked for over two decades at the prestigious auction house Sotheby’s. During her time at Sotheby’s, Maria gained deep knowledge of the art market dynamics, focusing particularly on business strategy and relationships with collectors.

Currently, Maria is an adjunct professor at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York, where she teaches courses on the international art market and the auction business. In addition to her teaching, she is involved in research, consulting, and speaking on the art market at international conferences, including institutions such as Georgetown University (DC), Tsinghua University (Beijing), Centro Universitario (Mexico), University of Miami (UM), and others.

Maria is the author of several publications, including ¿Inversión o pasión? Una guía para navegar el mercado del arte (Deusto, Grupo Planeta). She regularly contributes to Artealdia.com and other art publications. She is a member of The International Art Market Studies Association (TIAMSA), serves on the international board of the Hispanic Society, and is actively involved in art-related charitable initiatives.
