Statement

Jesús Casimiro’s work is defined as an architecture of fiber, where weaving transcends craftsmanship to become a contemporary plastic language. Originally from Luracatao, the artist uses sheep and llama wool as an emotional cartography of the Calchaquí Valleys. His technical approach integrates ancestral knowledge with three-dimensional abstraction, transforming the loom into a space of cultural resistance. Through complex weaves and organic textures, Casimiro explores the tension between territory and modernity, positioning textile art as a fundamental pillar of regional identity and aesthetic sovereignty.
