Mercedes Claus holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Argentine and Latin American Art History at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín. She teaches at the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino (UMSA) and in the Curadores 2.5 program at La Escuelita. She has been part of research projects dedicated to contemporary art at UNA and UNSAM.

Between 2007 and 2013, she worked in the direction and production department of the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires. Since 2013, she has been in charge of exhibition coordination and collection records at Galería Vasari. She has coordinated the production of more than one hundred exhibitions. Since 2014, she has also been responsible for the Archivo Alejandro Kuropatwa.

As an independent curator, she has organized exhibitions in various institutions and galleries across the country, including Fundación Andreani, Museo Palacio Dionisi and Fotogalería Sara Facio del TGSM, among others. She was part of the curatorial team of Simbiología. Prácticas artísticas en un planeta en emergencia, presented at the Centro Cultural Kirchner in 2021–2022. In 2025, she curated the Espacio de Fotografía at the Centro Cultural Borges. She has served as a prize jury member for the Premio Estímulo Cazadores (2024) and as a jury member for the Convocatoria de creación at the Bienal de Performance B.P.23 (2023).
