Federico Rabinovich

Bio

Federico Rabinovich (b. 1990, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a photographer and visual artist based in New York. After spending a decade in Buenos Aires creating fashion films, Federico transitioned to photography, furthering his practice in the United States. His work explores the relationship between landscapes, seasons, and the ever-changing energy of the places he captures, often reflecting on the way environments shift depending on mood and time. He is particularly drawn to photographing in the “off-season,” when places are quieter, evoking a sense of stillness and introspection.
Federico is a graduate of the International Center of Photography in New York, where he honed his technical skills and deepened his artistic voice. His recent exhibitions include Lifelines (2023), a group show at ICP where he exhibited a large-format portrait of his husband, and Shared Spaces (2024), where he presented new work from his ongoing series Off Season. Most recently, he exhibited the complete Off Season series at Artifact Gallery in New York, in a solo show curated by Elisabeth Biondi. In January 2026, Rabinovich presented a solo exhibition of Off Season, in Automóviles, curated by Dafne C. P. Castex in Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay. In March 2026, he became director and co-founder of Al Sur Gallery, a contemporary art gallery based between New York, Buenos Aires, and Milan.

Statement

Federico’s photographic style is defined by his use of black and white imagery and long exposure techniques, a natural extension of his background in audiovisual arts. His approach to capturing time and movement within still images allows him to explore the passage of time and the subtlety of change, emphasizing both the ephemeral and the enduring in the landscapes he documents.
His journey as an artist has been deeply shaped by both his personal experiences and his extensive travel. Having lived and worked in different countries, Federico believes that travel is a powerful tool for shaping one’s perspective. These shifts in perception are reflected in his evolving photographic practice, which is as much about personal exploration as it is about the external world.
