Gonzalo Lauda
Bio
Gonzalo Lauda was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1967. He is an independent photographer and director of the Struka photography gallery. He began his photography studies with Pedro Luís Raota, Eduardo Gil, and Fabiana Barreda, and established himself as a fashion photographer for renowned editorials and advertising campaigns for major national and international brands. Throughout his career he traveled to different parts of the world to photograph, in large format, landscapes, the sea, and animals, which are among his main subjects.
Among his most notable projects are the large-scale productions he created to recreate the battles of independence and the Falklands (Malvinas) conflict.
He has published several books and, throughout his career, has taken part in solo and group exhibitions, earning numerous awards and distinctions. His work is part of important public and private collections
Statement
I photograph what I admire. I work exploring light, movement, and the relationship between the eye and the instant. The immensity of the sea, the power of horses, the calm of a landscape that holds its own in large format. I search for the exact instant where the real becomes memory
