Alexia Tala

Artistic Director of Plataforma Atacama and member of the curatorial committee at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo.

Independent curator, researcher, and art critic, she lives between Chile and Brazil. She is currently Artistic Director of Plataforma Atacama and a member of the curatorial committee at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo.

She has a strong track record in biennial curating across the region, including the Paiz Art Biennial in Guatemala, the Performance Biennial in Chile, the Mercosur Biennial, and the Poly/Graphic Triennial of San Juan. She also conceived LARA (Latin American Roaming Art) and was a guest researcher at the Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende in Chile.

She has curated both solo and group exhibitions addressing contemporary practices and themes such as ancestral cosmovisions and climate change.

Her work has been published internationally. She contributed to the editorial committee of Latin American Artists (Phaidon, 2023) and is the author of Installations and Experimental Printmaking. She is currently working on a monograph on Lotty Rosenfeld.
