Bernardo Montoya

Artist, curator, researcher, cultural manager, and educator, based in Bogotá, Colombia. His practice explores the relationships between matter, memory, and transformation, articulating sculpture, installation, and interdisciplinary processes that connect art, science, and territory. His work integrates artistic production, research, and archival activation, with a focus on collaborative and experimental methodologies.

He is founder and director of Salón Comunal, a platform dedicated to circulation, education, and critical thinking in contemporary art, and president of the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries of Colombia (AGAC). His work has been exhibited across the Americas, Europe, and the United States, and is part of public and site-specific projects. As a curator and researcher, he develops projects related to art history, material ecologies, and community-based practices, integrating cultural management as a core part of his artistic practice.
