Miguel Aguirre Vega

Visual artist based in Lima, Peru. He studied Painting at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, graduating in 1995 with the Adolfo Winternitz Prize, and completed doctoral studies at the University of Barcelona (DEA).

His practice centers on the investigation of image and representation. He has received several important awards, including First Prize at the VIII National Painting Competition of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (2016), First Prize at the I National Encounter of Visual Arts in Trujillo (2017), and the Economic Stimuli for Culture granted by the Ministry of Culture of Peru (2018).

In 2025, he presented Miguel Aguirre. Volumen I, an anthological exhibition curated by Iosu Aramburu at ICPNA, alongside the publication of a comprehensive catalogue raisonné of his work. His work is part of public and private collections across Latin America and Europe.
