Patrick Charpenel

Director of El Museo del Barrio, New York.

Philosopher, curator and collector. He is currently Director of El Museo del Barrio in New York. His practice focuses on the paradoxes and ambiguities of the contemporary world.

He has organized numerous exhibitions at institutions in Mexico and internationally, including the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, Museo de Arte Moderno, and Museo Tamayo in Mexico City, as well as venues in the United States and Europe. He has also published critical texts in specialized journals.

He served as director of the JUMEX Collection/Foundation until 2015 and led the Casa Barragán Estancia FEMSA curatorial program. He is co-founder of Ediciones MP and currently serves as director of El Museo del Barrio in New York.
