Rember Yahuarcani
Visual artist, curator, and activist, belonging to the Uitoto and Cocama Indigenous nations (Aimenɨ Clan, White Heron), from the native community of La Colonia, Ampiyacú River, Loreto, Peru. His practice focuses on the defense and dissemination of Indigenous cosmologies and knowledge.
Since 2003, he has exhibited in museums and galleries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He has received recognitions including the First Prize at the National Painting Competition of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru and the II Intercontinental Biennial of Indigenous Art.
He is the author of several books and has developed curatorial projects presented in institutions in Peru and Spain. In 2024, he participated in the 60th Venice Biennale.
