Jennifer Basile
Bio
Jennifer Basile (1973, Manhasset, NY) earned her MFA in Painting & Printmaking from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (1999) and a BFA from the University of Miami (1996). She has participated in prestigious artist residencies across the U.S., including at Mass MoCA, Studios of Key West, VCCA Residency, and Hambidge Center for Creative Arts. Represented by LnS Gallery since 2017, Basile has showcased her work in solo exhibitions such as The Power of Print (2019) and Lasting Impressions (2022).
Her art blends landscape printmaking with environmental advocacy, addressing the impact of urbanization on nature. Her recent series, In The Wake of Reflection (2025), emphasizes the preservation of Florida’s endangered landscapes. Basile’s public art project Disappearing Treasures (2021) at Miami’s Underline reflects her environmental commitment. Her work is also included in the permanent collection of the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami, the Museum of Art and Design at Miami-Dade College, and the private collection of Jorge and Darlene Perez at El Espacio 23.

Jennifer Basile’s formal practice in art is deeply rooted in a fusion of traditional printmaking techniques and a passionate commitment to environmental advocacy. With a Master of Fine Arts in Painting & Printmaking from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (1999) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting & Printmaking from the University of Miami (1996), Basile has honed a refined technical skill set that allows her to manipulate materials and processes to evoke both beauty and a powerful message. Her work is an exploration of nature’s fragility, captured through detailed and layered prints that render complex landscapes, often focusing on wetlands and endangered ecosystems.
