The Panama Canal through form and color: Emmanuel Moses at NG Art Gallery.

“Geometry in Transit” is the exhibition that the Panamanian artist is presenting in NG Art Gallery at Centro Espacio Arte in Panama City

Through an optical-kinetic language that reflects the perpetual movement of water, Emmanuel Moses’s series raises critical questions about the vulnerability and resilience of national sovereignty in the face of international pressures.

His work approaches the Panama Canal as an area crossed by external forces and open memories, presenting itself as a wound and scar that marks the political identity of the isthmus. Using authentic materials such as Corten steel—which undergoes a natural oxidation process as a metaphor for history—rocks extracted from the territory, and sand from both oceans, Moses embodies history in the material itself.

Emmanuel Moses’ work is the result of a constant process of research into the geometric essence of forms and color theory. In his most recent projects, the artist has developed increasingly sophisticated proposals, approaching art with a purist and mathematical sensibility, and exploring the application of ranges, proportions, and tonal relationships based on meticulously measured fractions.

His works, which blend abstraction and surrealism, explore themes of perception, alternate realities, and parallel dimensions. Through them, he invites viewers to reflect on the nature of reality and imagination; to explore new horizons and question their perception of the world around them.

Moses studied Marketing, Finance, and Advertising Design at Texas Christian University and the Savannah College of Art and Design. His work has been exhibited in various countries, including Panama, Cuba, Guatemala, Chile, Brazil, and the United States (Los Angeles, New York, and Miami). He has recently participated in projects with the Articruz Workshop.

Geometría en Tránsito shows in Hall A at NG Art Gallery, located at Centro Espacio Arte in San Francisco, Panama City. It opens to the public on March 20.
