Fundación Pinta and Residencia de al Lado: a partnership to strengthen the circulation of Latin American artists

Pinta announces a new partnership with Residencia de al Lado, joining the international network of initiatives the platform promotes to support the visibility and projection of Latin American artists. This collaboration establishes a concrete bridge between two key moments in Pinta’s contemporary art fair calendar —Pinta Miami and Pinta Lima— creating a space for continuity, research, and production beyond the fair itself.

The core of this partnership is the selection of an artist participating in Pinta Miami, who is invited to undertake an artist residency at Residencia de al Lado for an approximate period of two months, unfolding before, during, and after Pinta Lima. In this way, the initiative supports both the research and development process of the work and its moment of greatest visibility within the framework of the event. As part of the program, Fundación Pinta covers the cost of the international airfare, facilitating the artist’s mobility and fostering professional exchange within the region, while Residencia de al Lado provides the residency stay and comprehensive program support, offering a framework for work and dialogue with the local art scene.

Founded by Ginette and Alberto Rebaza, Residencia de al Lado is a family-run project with ten years of activity and more than thirty artists who have taken part in professional exchanges with the Peruvian art scene. Located in a quiet area of Lima, the residency offers a setting conducive to living, working, and researching, providing an immersive experience and sustained dialogue with the local context.

This partnership reinforces Pinta’s role as a platform that not only exhibits and promotes Latin American art, but also builds a Latin American cartography of circulation, training, and production, connecting art fairs, residencies, and cultural initiatives. In this sense, the collaboration with Residencia de al Lado is part of a long-term vision aimed at creating concrete opportunities for artists and expanding their contexts of action.

Selected Artist – 2026 period

The artist selected for the 2026 period is Luciano Giménez (Argentina), represented by Cott Galería (Buenos Aires, Argentina). His practice explores the material possibilities of local clay used by the brickmaking industry in the city of Córdoba, working at a larger scale that is uncommon within local ceramic practices. His participation in Pinta Miami 2025 led to the selection process to join Residencia de al Lado during Pinta Lima 2026, strengthening exchange between artistic scenes and consolidating this experience within a regional network of contemporary practices.
