Pinta Panamá Art Week announces its alliance with IFF Panamá for the 2026 edition

From March 18 to 22, 2026, Panama City will once again host Pinta Panamá Art Week, consolidating its position as a key destination on the international contemporary art calendar. In its second edition, under the artistic direction of Irene Gelfman, the event will offer five days dedicated to the local scene, featuring studio visits, exhibitions, gallery tours, an international FORUM, and special activities at cultural institutions—engaging with the country’s tourist attractions and gastronomy. A week to discover a city in full cultural expansion.

Pinta Panamá x IFF Panamá: an agreement that broadens the cultural perspective

For this new edition, Pinta Panamá Art Week announces its alliance with the Panama International Film Festival (IFF Panamá)—an agreement that strengthens the intersections between visual arts and cinema, two languages that share the ability to narrate identities, build community, and open spaces for dialogue.

Both platforms share a common purpose: to spotlight Latin American talent, foster regional creativity, and position Panama as a cultural meeting point. The collaboration will take shape through free screenings of curated film content as part of the Art Week’s cultural program. In addition, representatives from the IFF Panamá Foundation will participate in the FORUM, Pinta’s lecture series dedicated to critical and participatory thought. Further details will be announced shortly.

“The alliance between the Panama International Film Festival (IFF Panamá) and Pinta Panamá marks an important step in strengthening the ties between cinema and the visual arts. Both platforms share the goal of highlighting Latin American talent and projecting Panama as a cultural meeting point. This agreement opens new opportunities for collaboration, dialogue, and exhibition that connect artists, filmmakers, and audiences around creativity and regional identity.”
Karla Quintero, Executive Director of IFF Panamá

IFF Panamá: cinema that connects and transforms

The Panama International Film Festival champions cinema from Panama, Central America, and the Caribbean, celebrating regional diversity and new ways of telling stories. With a curated program and an agenda that includes masterclasses, panels, and industry spaces, IFF Panamá has established itself as a driver of cultural development and a creative reference for the region.

Its mission to transform lives, connect communities, and amplify voices naturally aligns with Pinta’s vision of strengthening networks and promoting Latin American artistic expressions within a global context.
