Cisco Merel is a Panamanian visual artist whose practice explores Panama’s cultural identity through its contrasts, migrations, and popular traditions. Working primarily with abstraction, he incorporates color, architecture, carnival imagery, and elements of the urban landscape. In his recent work, he focuses on clay and locally collected soil as materials connected to memory, territory, and history.
