Pompi Gutnisky

Bio

Pompi Gutnisky (Buenos Aires, 1962) abandons her studies in biology at the University of Buenos Aires to travel through Europe and the Middle East. At the end of the 80s, she worked in Alejandro Kuropatwa's photography studio and enrolled at the National Institute of Cinematography. She has worked for several years in advertising and feature films for Argentine and French production companies. She travels again, through America and Southeast Asia. Between 1997 and 1999 she participated in the Program for Young Artists directed by Guillermo Kuitca organized by the Proa Foundation, the ICI and the Borges Cultural Center. Experience that extends to the period 2003-2005, participating in the Red Visual Arts Program/UBA directed by Guillermo Kuitca.
In 1994 she held her first individual exhibition at the Recoleta Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. Since then she has held several individual exhibitions: Braga Menéndez Arte Contemporáneo, RedGaleria, Elsi del Rio, Galeria Gara, La Compañía. Recently, between 2022 and 2023, she participated in the following group exhibitions: Contact Bodies at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, “Art is a Mystery” at the Fortabat Collection, “The Waves of Desire” at the National Bicentennial House. In previous years she has participated in several group exhibitions: Dina Mitrani Gallery-Miami, Tigre Art Museum, Borges Cultural Center, Arte x Arte, PROA Foundation, Villa Victoria, MNBA, ICI, among others.

Since 1995, Pompi Gutnisky has worked as a photographer specializing in interior design, architecture, fashion, lifestyle, portraits and travel. Her works are regularly published in various national and international media outlets. She also takes photographs for advertising campaigns for designers, architecture and interior design studios and for hotel companies.
She currently lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
