Musuk Nolte
Bio
Musuk Nolte (1988) studied professional photography and a specialization in contemporary photography at the Centro de la Imagen in Lima. He was a grantee of FONCA Mexico (2010), the World Press Photo Master class in Latin America (2015) and Magnum Foundation (2017). He has received the X national award for documentary photography "Eugene Courret" (2010) and the Elliott Erwitt Havana Club 7 Fellowship (2017).
He has had more than 10 solo exhibitions in countries such as Spain, Peru, Argentina, France and Mexico. And in various group exhibitions, among which stand out, MALI (Museo de Arte en Lima), SIPF (Singapore International Photography Festival), Les Rencontres d'Arles, III Photoquai Biennial, Casa de América Madrid, PhotoEspaña XX, XV Venice Biennial of Architecture, ParisPhoto, FoLa, among others. He published the books PIRUW (together with Leslie Searles, 2013), Flor de Toé (Versus Photo, 2014), La primera piedra (2014), La velocidad de la deriva (2017) and Sombra de Isla (2019)
Statement
His work has a documentary and artistic approach about cultural and social issues in dialogue with other sources of understanding the human condition, like different cultural cosmovision’s in the Amazonian and Andean region.
