Bio
Lacy Duarte is a renowned Uruguayan artist, she developed in various fields of art such as engraving, painting and tapestry. He represented Uruguay at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005, and has won several awards of great national and international importance. She has had exhibitions in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. Today there are rooms named after her in Seattle and Beijing.
Statement
Her work deals with the reality of women in the field. She was born in the countryside in the city of Salto, in an extremely humble environment, and in her work she tries to capture those experiences, not making poor art, she makes art from the poor.
