Statement

Nature is the central theme in Melissa's work, and the fact that it is a recurring motif in her career demonstrates the importance it occupies in her pictorial proposal. The vegetation that covers her works, immobile and silent, reveals a meticulous technique.
Faced with an abundance of contemporary props overflowing with drama and visual excitement, Melissa's work is paradoxically daring in its fidelity to the traditional methods of easel painting and India ink drawing.
