Statement
My work in optical style was the natural evolution of my work in high contrast and woodcarving and collage techniques.
I formed mixed patterns looking for the effect of distance and closeness. When viewed through a lens, the image is unmissable and the visual effect is a direct result of my study of the ways in which the brain interprets light, lines and shapes, neurosciences and the physiology of human vision.
