Bio

Charley Friedman es un beneficiario de la subvención Pollock-Krasner, dos veces nominado a Rema Hort y artista de Smack Mellon "Hot Picks". Friedman ha expuesto y actuado en galerías e instituciones a nivel internacional, como MoMA PS1, The Queens Museum, Gallery Diet, The Fabric Workshop, Volta NYC, Pulse Miami, Jack Tilton Gallery y Lehman College. Se encuentra en las colecciones del Museo de Brooklyn, la Biblioteca Pública de Nueva York, la Universidad de Stanford y otros.

Statement

This word search is comprised of 25,000 hand-painted letters compiled from hundreds of words associated with the genocides of the last two centuries such as the Holocaust, Native American, Rwandan, and Armenian massacres. The piece creates a conceptual bridge between our present moment in a time when facts are promoted as fake. It explores how we as humans select what we want to see.
