40 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy - Special Project

Curator Irene Gelfman

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, and Worship of the Argentine Republic, the Consulate General and Promotion Center of Argentina in Miami, in collaboration with Arte al Día Internacional and the Pinta Fair, promote Argentine commercial and artistic openness on the international stage. In 2022, the project "Emerging Argentine Artists" was presented, where 10 artists were selected to showcase their works during the Pinta Miami fair.

This year, in celebration of 40 years of uninterrupted democracy in Argentina, Renata Molinari, a participating artist from the previous edition, is invited to present a site-specific project revolving around the ideas of freedom, acquired rights, and democracy.

Statement

Working through painting, sculpture, and performance, I explore the blurred boundaries between categories such as the living and the inert, the artificial and the natural, the body and the object. My practice uses elements of fantasy, speculative fiction, and trans-species imaginaries to delve into visions of alternate worlds.
