El proyecto consiste en una selección de los periódicos más importantes y de mayor circulación en un país y a cada una de las páginas les corto las columnas de texto y las imágenes que aparecen, dejando solamente los espacios en blanco entre texto y texto. Dicha acción convierte a cada página en un entramado con espacios vacíos que luego utilizo como plantilla. Estas plantillas las traspaso a papeles de colores, es decir, un color por página y respetando la escala real del periódico, la cantidad de páginas y el orden original de las mismas. Al ir superponiendo las cartulinas recortadas
sobre otras, van creando estos entramados coloridos que terminan resultando composiciones abstractas geométrica. Es interesante como ese espacio negativo que existía entre texto y texto del periódico se convierte en positivo, el vacío se transforma en forma. La ausencia de la palabra deviene en el lenguaje en sí mismo. El periódico deja de ser fuente de información para pasar a ser un universo abstracto infinito.
The project consists of a selection of the most important newspapers with the largest circulation in a country and from each of the pages I cut the columns of text and the images that appear, leaving only the blank spaces between text and text. This action turns each page into a lattice with empty spaces that I then use as a template. I transfer these templates to colored paper, that is, one color per page and respecting the real scale of the newspaper, the number of pages and their original order.
By superimposing the cut cardboard on others, they create these colorful frameworks resulting in geometric abstract compositions. It's interesting as that negative space that existed between text and text of the newspaper becomes positive, the void is transformed into form. The absence of the word becomes the language itself. The newspaper ceases to be a source of information to become an infinite abstract universe.
