Iquiqueña and pilgrim of the Tirana festival. Master, Graduate and Pedagogue in Visual Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
My artistic work encompasses different disciplines such as sculpture, installation, painting and performance, exploring the material concerns and emotional ties of my territory of origin. As an Aymara artist, I seek to reflect on the particularities of my worldview, searching in different sources for stories from the ancestral world to communicate with other worlds.
Statement
I describe my artistic practice as a material exploration combined with intuition to build different symbols that put the idea of the world we know in tension. Through this, I search in different sources for stories that have told the ancestral past of the people, in order to understand and incorporate that information into the contemporary world.
