Lucia Iturbe

Bio

Lucía Iturbe studied Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and subsequently graduated with a degree in Film Directing from the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires.
In the years that followed, she established her own production studio, building a career as a photographer and director while working on major advertising campaigns, editorial projects, and personal artistic endeavors.
During this period, she developed a distinctive visual language that led to collaborations on major audiovisual projects worldwide. Her work has been recognized at leading advertising festivals across Europe and the Americas, winning awards at Cannes Lions, the Clio Awards, Lápiz, and FIAP, among others.
Recently, following years of extensive travel and professional work, Lucía turned her focus toward her personal practice, creating, editing, and curating material for a retrospective body of work.
She currently manages her own workspace and exhibition venue, where her artistic practice converges with her interest in the natural world and botanical research.

Statement

TIERRA / Project Statement
Plants create and shape the landscapes they inhabit, establishing connections and fostering cooperation among the forces that make up their habitat.
Through these processes of interdependence, they evolve to sustain and strengthen shared forms of existence.
In this spirit—ranging from expansive vistas to abstract details—my project *Tierra* (Earth) proposes a perspective that contributes to a pluriversal coexistence with the world we inhabit.
From this viewpoint, plants are understood as co-inhabitants, inviting us to conceive of nature as a living, interconnected community.
Through this lens, I seek to reimagine the natural world, moving beyond the perceptions defined by classical modes of thought.
It is an immersive encounter where nature itself becomes the creator of its own art.
