Claudia Arévalo

Bio

An economist by profession and a photographer by vocation, she began taking courses in Art History 10 years ago and, since 2017, has continuously pursued courses in photography, digital post-production, and art at various institutions and independently.
Her work has been recognized at: Monochrome Photography Awards (2024), Minimalist Photography Awards (2023 and 2024), B&W Minimalism Magazine (2023), TIFA (Tokyo International Foto Awards) (2023), One Eyeland (2022 and 2023), and the Experimental Photo Festival Award at the Art Emergent Sabadell exhibition (Spain, 2022).

Statement

Her work explores the isolated behavior of people in public spaces, where the everyday becomes a reflection of individualism and introspection. At the same time, she examines the link between nature and the city, understood as an allegory for the relationship between human beings and their environment. This dialogue materializes in a minimalist and conceptual language, where emptiness and geometry define the scene and reveal, simultaneously, new ways of inhabiting it.
