Maria Celina Galera

Bio

A graduate in Painting from the National University of Córdoba, she has taught Art at the Higher Institute of Art and Communication in Catamarca since 1997. Between 2006 and 2009, she headed the Visual Arts Department of the Provincial Secretariat of Culture.
In addition to her own artistic practice, which includes paintings, drawings, objects, and textiles, she also works independently, fostering spaces for participation for artists from different disciplines.
For 25 years, she has worked as a Set Designer and Art Director for Theater and Film.
She has written articles on art and art education, and her work has appeared in provincial and national publications.
She has been selected as an artist and received grants from various regional and national programs, including Norte Cultura, the National Arts Fund, the Federal Investment Council (CFI), the National Secretariat of Culture, and Antorchas.
She participated in group exhibitions and art salons in the provinces of Córdoba, La Rioja, Santiago del Estero, Salta, Buenos Aires, Misiones, Mendoza, Tucumán, Jujuy, Entre Ríos, and Río Gallegos; and in New York.
She has received recognition for her painting and literary work.
Since 2015, she has been the singer and songwriter for the musical group “Baladí” (@baladí_oficial), with three albums released on streaming platforms. She has published four books of poetry and her work appears in important national and international anthologies.
