Francisca Garriga
Bio
Francisca Garriga holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts with a specialization in Painting from Universidad Finis Terrae (2012). After graduating, she worked as a teaching assistant in drawing courses, later specializing in color and lighting. Her work has been presented in various solo and group exhibitions, including Un nuevo mundo, the Chilean chapter of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Museo de la Mujer, 2023); Vol.1 De Geometría (Galería Artespacio, 2022); Blanco (Galería Artespacio, 2021); and Paisaje Transitorio (Galería Artespacio, 2018), where she developed research connected to Josef Albers’s color theory. She has also exhibited in Coreografías de Luz y Color (CAMM, Puerto Varas, 2020) and II Críticos x II Artistas (Sala Viña del Mar, 2018). She received First Prize in the Second Artespacio Joven BBVA Competition (Chile, 2016) and has participated in art fairs such as Pinta Miami (2019 and 2023), SP-Arte (2021), Art Lima (2017), Ch.ACO (2018), and Pinta PArC (2024).
Statement
My research stems from a visual perception guided by color, space, and form — conceived as essential coordinates of the plastic language. These elements function not merely as formal resources, but as sensitive links that invite the viewer on a journey moving from color toward the geometric. Forms that emerge and fade, vibrating patterns, volumes that breathe. The work unfolds in layers, revealing an organic rhythm in which color transcends its own surface and expands beyond the visible.

Este conjunto de trabajos forma parte de la investigación que he desarrollado a partir de la geometría como continente y del color como contenido. Me he centrado en el círculo y el cuadrado, figuras cuya aparente simplicidad, además de revelar su rotunda perfección, me aproxima a un factor poético que surge de ese universo absoluto que es la geometría.
