Statement

Abigail Reyes works from her momeries, experiences, and personal processes. She is interested in language and the text of poetry as a tool for healing but also for resistance and denunciation. In her practice, she brings together her memories and elements of popular culture, generally from the deeply personal, to reflect on social, cultural, and gender issues. In her work, the manual process is fundamental as a resource that allows her to observe and investigate using media such as embroidery, video installation, and other forms. She seeks to generate dialogues with the viewer.
