Manuel Segade 

Art historian and curator based in Madrid, Spain. He is currently Director of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. From 2016 to 2023 he served as Director of the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M) of the Community of Madrid, a position he obtained through a public competition.
He holds a degree in Art History from the University of Santiago de Compostela and completed a predoctoral residency at the University of Leeds alongside Griselda Pollock. Between 2007 and 2009 he was Chief Curator at the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporáneo (CGAC).
As an independent curator, he has developed more than 60 curatorial projects in modern and contemporary art, including the Spanish Pavilion by Jordi Colomer at the Venice Biennale 2017. His practice combines research, writing, public programs, and teaching in international contexts.
