Bio

Jose Arturo Lugon Barriga (Lima 1985) , artista visual, egresado de la facultad de arte de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru , PUCP (2009) en la especialidad de grabado con el “Premio a la critica “ (2009) , distinción al esfuerzo PUCP (2008) y el premio Adolfo Winternitz , primero de la promoción, (2007).
Fue finalista en el VII Concurso Nacional de pintura del BCRP (2016 / 2017) además fue elegido como artista exclusivo para Absolut Vodka (2013) y ser finalista en el III Concurso Nacional de pintura jóvenes creadores (2010) , finalista en el XXXIII Salón Nacional de grabado ICPNA (2010) y ganador de la Mención honrosa en el XX Concurso Nacional de artistas jóvenes premio Cerro Verde (2010) .

Statement

I have a marked interest in deconstruction, this is connected not only in my work but also in the creative process.
Geometric shapes, stains, reinterpreted icons, gestures, overlap and build this new space, a space that in the first instance could be something flat but thanks to the overlapping, glazes, the vibration of color, they create a deep space that invites (re)to find out.
