María Fernanda Carlos
Bio
María Fernanda is an artist who lives in Guatemala. His main media are painting, photography, video and installation. She studied Communication Sciences in Guatemala City and completed her postgraduate degree at the University of Chelsea College of Arts and Design in London in 2009. Influenced by Eastern Philosophy but with Latin roots, the artist is interested in studying and researching the functioning of opposites, finding a balance between them, as well as questioning what happens in between.
Statement
‘I am interested in everything that we cannot see, but we can feel. All that we have inherited but have forgotten. The gesture of remembering the past, living in the present. She studied human behavior, its mental structures, patterns, repetitions, ancestry, mystical practices, ritual, the role of women today and motherhood from critical thinking.
