Ides kihlen
Bio
Born in Santa Fe in 1917, Ides Kihlen trained from a young age at the School of Decorative Arts in Buenos Aires, studying under Pío Collivadino, Vicente Puig, and Juan Batlle Planas, as well as studying with André Lhote in Paris. In the 1960s, she was a student of Kenneth Kemble and continued her studies with Adolfo Nigro in the 1980s.
For decades, she worked in silence, focused on pure creation, distant from the artistic circuit. Her work, which combines painting and music, was brought to light in 2002 with a retrospective at the National Museum of Decorative Art, when she was 85 years old.
Since then, her work has gained recognition in galleries and fairs, and has been exhibited in institutions such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, the Caraffa Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. Kihlen is recognized for her commitment to creative freedom and her unique approach
