Cecilia Paredes

Bio

Cecilia Paredes (Lima, 1950) is a Peruvian multimedia artist based in Philadelphia (United States), where she is a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work transcends into universal themes, particularly those related to the power of nature and the feminine. It also addresses migration, a central theme in several of her exhibitions.

Statement

The poetic dimension of her proposal merges the earthly representation of nature – a source of sacred and ancestral stories – with the vast iconography of the astral universe. She has explored performance, photography, and digital collage.
