María Ossandón
Bio
María Ossandón Recart was born in Santiago de Chile in 1986. She lives and works in this city. In 2005 she entered to study Fine Arts.
she at the ARCIS University, specializing in sculpture and obtaining a degree in Fine Arts in April 2011. In 2015 she obtained the Diploma in Art Studies at the Catholic University of Chile.
Statement
I work with the change of scale, with miniature landscapes within different supports or containers. My work starts first with the collection, with the search for the material, and it is these materials that hint at the development that my work will take.
The miniature or the small force the viewer to necessarily have to approach the works, because they are not appreciated from a distance. This departs from more frontal ways of accessing art, forces them to change the positions of the bodies they observe and takes away the "greatness" that distances usually have.
