Doctor in History and Criticism of Art from Florida State University (United States) and independent curator. She specializes in modern and contemporary Latin American art with a focus on indigenous and rural Andean arts and their critical relationship with the global art context. She has been a professor in the art history departments of the University of South Florida and California State University San Bernardino, as well as in the Master's program in Museology and Cultural Management at the Universidad Ricardo Palma. She has also worked as a researcher and curator in various museums in Lima and has developed several independent curatorial projects in Peru and the United States. Among the most recent ones are "Becoming Land" (co-curated with Florencia Portocarrero, 80m2-Livia Benavides, 2023-2024), "Threads that Resist, Threads that Subvert: Identities, Memories, and Bodies in Textile Art" (Británico Cultural, 2022), and "Resistance and Change: Sarhua Boards, Contemporary Paintings from the Peruvian Andes" (Pensacola Museum of Art, 2019). She has published articles in specialized journals such as Arts, The Journal of Curatorial Studies, Illapa Mana Tukukuq, Crafts of America, Annals of the Museum of America, and in edited volumes and exhibition catalogs. She is currently a member of the Academic Committee of the Lima Art Museum, a research member of the project "Linking the Sacred: Spiritual Currents in 20th Century Latin American and Caribbean Art, 1920-1970" at the Cisneros Institute of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and she is the editor, along with Lesley Wolff, of the special issue of the Arts magazine "Rethinking Contemporary Latin American Art".
