Statement
Eduardo Llanos
Regarding his proposal, art critic Elida Román comments:
…Trying to find the most noticeable parameters or axes that seem to guide each and every one of the works, I think about the concept of fragility and transience, about armor that protects from the unforeseen or still unknown, about the rhythms and the work involved in creating these protections, and about creating that very deep instinct for self-preservation that prepares for defense using a hidden weapon.
To arrive at these results, the artist employs certain instrumental concepts common to all design, contrasts in all creations: connecting, knotting, weaving, collecting, radiating, hanging, tensioning, caging, bringing closer, penetrating, repeating, rhythmicizing, contrasting, agglomerating. If anything characterizes the results of these exercises, it is their capacity for coherence, symbolic transmission, and poetic talent.
