Edelmira Boller

Bio

Edelmira Boller (Colombia, 1936) is a sculptor whose work focuses on the assembly of metal forms, exploring balance, tension, and the coupling between parts. Working primarily with iron, her practice is defined by a direct, empirical relationship with the material, developed outside traditional academic training. Throughout her career, she has built a distinct visual language in which repetition, variation, and the encounter between elements generate open, dynamic structures. Her work has been recognized later in life within the Colombian art context, noted for its formal strength and its ability to engage contemporary concerns through an autonomous and deeply personal trajectory. Today, her practice is the subject of renewed institutional and curatorial interest.
