Liliana Porter
Bio
Her work is featured in the traveling exhibition Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985 at the Brooklyn Museum, NY, and The Hammer in Los Angeles, CA. In 2017, Porter's work was included in Viva Arte Viva, La Biennale di Venezia, the 57th International Art Exhibition in Italy, and debuted as Taming the Lion and Other Doubts, her third theatrical production, in June at the 2nd Performance Biennial, Parque de la Memoria in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Statement
The artist has been based in New York since 1964, working across print media, painting, drawing, photography, video, installation, theater and public art. Porter began showing her work in 1959 and has since been in over 450 exhibitions in 40 countries. Solo exhibitions in the last 3 years include those at the Musée - Frac Occitanie in Toulouse; the exhibition "L'Art de la Joie" at Mor Charpentier in Paris and "Liliana Porter: Man with Axe and Other Stories" at The Frist Art Museum, Nashville, Tennessee. She has also participated in group exhibitions in the United States (New York, Philadelphia, Ohio), Argentina, Holland and Switzerland since 2020.
