Statement
José Ángel Vincench’s work explores the relationship between language, power, and spirituality within the Cuban context. Through the use of politically charged words and symbols drawn from Afro-Cuban religions, he transforms abstraction into a space for ethical and social reflection. His use of gold leaf and minimalist geometry gives his pieces a ritual dimension where the sacred and the political intertwine. Vincench turns words into images and critique into contemplation, questioning the boundaries between art, ideology, and faith.
