Pilar Moreno
Bio
Visual artist and filmmaker. Her work has been shown in individual and collective exhibitions in numerous spaces, museums and biennials in America and Europe. Her work is included in the most relevant permanent collections of Central America, like the Museum of Contemporary Art of San José, MADC, and MAC Panamá. She has received much recognition and various prizes, such as the first prize in the Roberto Lewis National Contest of Visual Arts in Panama (2014 and 2023), the Beca Catalizadora of Teorética, Inquieta Imagen 2013, Bienal de Videocreación MADC and Valoarte. From 2018 she develops an inclusive contemporary art project in which she works with artists and collectives of people with psychic disability. Her filmography –as director and screenwriter– includes titles that have received multiple prizes and have been selected in many prestigious international festivals.
