Statement
My use of poetic language translates into chiaroscuros created using unconventional lighting techniques that I call “Luminal Photo Performance”.
With this technique I create images within a human temporality, not a mechanical, artificial temporality, but the temporality of human thought and the unfolding of my body’s movement within the scene as I illuminate it.
The choice of these techniques does not stem from a nostalgic attitude toward analog photography or a rejection of digital technologies. On the contrary, it constitutes a conscious aesthetic and conceptual decision. In a context in which image production is increasingly automatic, instantaneous, and delegated to mechanical devices, algorithms, and artificial intelligences, my practice seeks to restore to the photographic act the dimension of the body, time, and experience.
