Ana Steinnekker
Bio
I was born in 1960 in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. I am a visual artist, an architect (graduated from the University of Belgrano (UB) with a specialization in Form and Communication), and a multidimensional therapist specializing in Conscious Integral Transformation from Spirit and Soul for the Personality (TICEAP). I trained with Alicia Herrero at the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center (CCRR) and with Guillermo Roux at the Roux Foundation, and I participated in an artistic critique program with Alejandra Roux. In 2016, I held my first solo exhibition at the University of Belgrano (UB), curated by Fabiana Barreda. I completed the Huellas (Traces) seminar and the NAT residency at SM Pro Art. In 2024, I participated in Arte en la Naturaleza (Art in Nature) at the Museum of Nature in Cantabria, Spain, and held my second solo exhibition at the Ramseyer Dayer Foundation in Santa Fe. Since 2024, I have been participating in the TAO program led by Daniel Fischer at ODA Gallery, as well as the lithography workshop led by Natalia Giacchetta.
Statement
I have always been interested in the depth and relief of the seafloor, and all my works are, in some way, forms of hydrographic relief or reflections on water and humanity. I explore the sea and humanity as a continuum: a way of thinking about our own species as part of nature.
