Statement
Positioned between figuration and abstraction, Brines constructs visual fields where human presence emerges through chromatic gestures and stratified structures. Rather than representing fixed narratives, his paintings function as spaces of tension between control and spontaneity, where the image appears as the consequence of an energetic process. Influenced by personal memory and the complexity of contemporary identity, his work explores the unstable boundaries between the intimate and the collective. Brines proposes a reflection on the fragility of being and the persistence of the human trace within the current environment.
