Víctor Enoc
Bio
Víctor Enoc (Caracas, Venezuela, 1984) is a visual artist. He lives and works in Buenos Aires. He holds a degree in Sociology from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and completed a Diploma in Photography at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín. He also attended the Master’s Program in Curatorial Studies in Visual Arts at UNTREF (incomplete).
His practice brings together photography, ceramics, and installation to explore relationships between image, matter, and temporality. His work proposes a system in motion, where forms, symbols, and fragments move between past and present, shaping unstable images marked by repetition and transformation.
His solo exhibitions include Pulso líquido (Linse Galería, 2025) and Unheimlich (Palacio México, Buenos Aires, 2017). He has participated in group exhibitions at Linse Galería, Blasón, Pagana Casa de Arte, and the Universidad Nacional de San Martín.
He was selected for the Fundación Fortabat Prize (2023), MACSUR (2020), and the National Salon of Visual Arts (2018), and received the Fondo Nacional de las Artes Creation Grant (2022).
Statement
My work can be imagined as a pendulum that, in its swing, drags and carries things from one point to another. The pendulum is not arbitrary; time is a constant element. For this reason, the work continually looks to the past, bringing it updates from the present—bringing it up to date. At the same time, it carries back to the present memories and past situations.
It is a body of work in motion, where motifs, figures, and concerns recur (horses, mermaids, crosses, etc.). In this oscillation, it is at times baroque, accumulating what it encounters. At other moments, it becomes fragmentary, as it breaks down the elements it carries. This is why I am interested in the figure of the shard, which often appears in the work, as it may serve as evidence or trace of that movement.
